What is HotelEye?

Pakistan's government guest registration system

HotelEye is a web portal built by PITB and linked to NADRA. Hotels, hostels, and guesthouses use it to submit guest records to local police. If you operate short-term accommodation in Pakistan, it applies to you. (The Punjab portal labels it "Smart Eye" — same system, different header.)

Who has to use it

Every hotel, hostel, guesthouse, and short-term rental in Pakistan — including properties listed on Airbnb and Booking.com.

The legal basis

The Punjab Information of Temporary Residents Act 2015 requires operators to file guest records within 24 hours of arrival. Similar directives apply in other provinces.

What you need to submit

CNIC number, full name, permanent address, arrival date, and expected departure — for every guest, every stay.

Enforcement is active

Police have been issuing directives regularly, most recently in early 2026. Operators who missed filings were called in to explain.

The old way

Three extra steps for every tenant

Without Esset, keeping HotelEye current means switching between your own records and the government portal every time a guest checks in or out.

Open HotelEye separately

Open a new browser tab, navigate to the HotelEye portal, and log in with your operator credentials.

Type in every guest detail again

CNIC, name, address, arrival and departure dates — all of it typed in by hand, even though you already have it in your own system.

Repeat for every update

Extended stay? Early checkout? Guest detail corrected? Back to the portal to update it.

Multiply this across every tenant, every month.
How Esset handles it

Add a tenant once. HotelEye stays current.

Esset has a direct integration with HotelEye. Add or update a tenant in your dashboard and the portal record updates in seconds.

Add a tenant in Esset

Enter CNIC, name, address, and lease dates in your Esset dashboard.

On Growth and Premium plans, take a photo of the CNIC and the form fills itself.

HotelEye updates instantly

Esset pushes the guest record to HotelEye within seconds. Checkouts, extensions, and corrections sync the same way.

You stay compliant

Your HotelEye portal stays accurate without any manual filing. Change something in Esset and both systems reflect it.

Pakistan's Only Native Integration

The only platform that talks to HotelEye.

HotelEye is Pakistan's government-linked hostel registration system. Every hostel operator must maintain it. Until now, that meant double data entry every single time.

Add once, sync everywhere

Add a tenant to Esset and HotelEye gets the record automatically — no separate form, no copy-paste.

Real-time two-way sync

Updates in Esset reflect in HotelEye within seconds. Check-outs, status changes, everything.

Zero compliance risk

Government registration stays current automatically. You're always compliant without lifting a finger.

Common questions

HotelEye and Esset — what operators ask us

HotelEye is Pakistan's government guest registration portal, built by PITB and connected to NADRA. The Punjab Information of Temporary Residents Act 2015 requires every hotel, hostel, guesthouse, and short-term rental — including Airbnb and Booking.com listings — to register guests within 24 hours of arrival.

Yes. It covers all short-term accommodation regardless of how the booking was made. Pakistani operators have asked this question repeatedly and the answer from police and local authorities has been the same each time: if guests are staying, you need to file.

CNIC number, full name, permanent address, arrival date, and expected departure. Esset captures all of this during tenant onboarding, so there's nothing separate to fill in.

Yes, on Growth and Premium plans. Upload a photo of the guest's CNIC and Esset reads it automatically — pulling out the CNIC number, name, and address in one go. The form pre-fills with a confidence indicator on each field so you can review before saving. Since HotelEye needs exactly those same details, the scan-to-sync flow means almost no typing at check-in. See our Privacy Policy for details on how CNIC data is handled.

Operators who missed filings have received police notices and been called in to explain. Enforcement picked up in April 2026 with new directives issued across Punjab. Esset customers don't run that risk because the filing happens automatically.

Yes. Esset manages both residential leases and hostel-style tenancies. The HotelEye sync works on any property type where guest registration applies.

You'll need an existing account with HotelEye. Our team connects it to Esset during onboarding — after that, everything syncs automatically and you won't need to log into the HotelEye portal again for routine filings.

Set it up once.
Never file manually again.

Hostel and property operators across Pakistan use Esset to keep HotelEye current without touching the portal. Takes about 10 minutes to connect.
